CHALLENGE
During the well completions process called “fracking,” thousands of tons of specialized sand is pumped into the well bore to help open up the geology and allow the oil and/or gas to flow to the surface. The equipment suffers from the abrasive effects of the silica sand. Downtime during well completions is very costly. Leaks from abrasion cause physical and environmental risks.
IRACORE’S SOLUTION
INVI Oil & Gas LLC partnered with Iracore to develop a solution to the risks of equipment failure and downtime. INVI Oil & Gas LLC designs customized parts that Iracore lines in a specialized process that produces a consistent coating of urethane to the interior of the frac equipment parts.
This unique solution has allowed service companies in the oil and gas industry to extend the life of these parts by a factor of greater than five times. Parts can be inspected and sent out for repair, thus eliminating downtime during a frac job.
